I'm All Done with step #2 !!!!!  Only had to take apart 6 .......Not too bad.   I used method 3.  It made more sense to me, esp with working night shift,  I didn't have to think too hard :)                            I got my fetherweight to working (Thanks to folks on Vintage Sewing Machines on Facebook )                    Steps 1 & 2 done AND ironed.. (the good fairies of ironing did not show up last night )                     see... still have the bonus one to iron.   Time to hit Netflix and race a movie

Bonnie Hunter's MQ step 1

My plan was to wait and see how everyone's quilt was shaping up before I started and picked colors. I always like others variations and wish I had tried that color palette...... But alas, I jumped in! The only color I changed was the pinks..... Swapped to reds... So here are the results of step #1

Battle of the never-ending quilt !

It always pays to read directions at least one time all the way through....  Sometimes one needs to read the directions more than one time.... It prevents said person from making 16 blocks that are too small.   There is now way to fix it, other than make 16 new blocks,  which I have dutifully done !             I've sewed them all together...   The length is good,  Now I'm not happy with the width              It Doesn't look bad,  but after all the trouble I want it big enough to cover my bed !!!                                                  I'm not running low on scraps either :> It Back to sew world and marathon sewing....  I'll have to see what hits my fancy on Netflix

2 post's in one day.....wow !!! I just finished the crab apple tree that is in one of Bonnie Hunter's books.  I love and it is doggie approved.   It's on my bed right now, but once it starts getting cold out,  this will be my snuggle                                                         quilt in the living room.

So several months ago I Scored a Singer Featherweight 221. It just needed some cleaning, oiling, and some TLC and off it went !  I was just missing some "parts"   The Lady that I bought it from said that she'd look around the house and see if she could find the parts.  I went back to the shop, parentals went to the shop....nothing. SO yesterday I swung buy for one last try, Guess what was waiting on me !?!?!   rest of the Parts I've also been looking for a Slant-o-matic (aka Rocketeer by Singer)  The first time I saw one on EBay, the price was reasonable...Then because I decided that I wanted one, the price soared. They say that patience is a virtue,  I truly need to work on that one,  BUT look what I found !!!                    It's got all the goodies too !!!!  Including the hinges that fit into a sewing table                      This one is called Buzz.....as in Lightyear......Corny, I know.  It fits.

I haven't been in the mood to work on this.  It's been a long week.   It is time for a diversion .  A Healthful Region                                                       March in the Mountains                                                   What I've accomplished so far

ok, so I lied !!!!

Kinda.......I've been on a halfway stalk on eBay for a featherweight machine.   I'd bid on a Regular basis knowing good and well that my chances of winning was slim.....It was fun, gave me something to do.....My oldest sister cheered me on,  said I needed one esp if I decided to start going to classes....  Then in a conspiracy against me, My Father swings by the thrift/junk store,  calls all excited because she has 2 new sewing machines,  if I wanted to go check them out.  As a dutiful daughter, I go to look....imagine my surprise when the first one she pulls out is a Featherwieght !!! The other machine was a black 1956-1959 singer,  case and box had seen better days,  didn't even look look at it, the featherweight was plugged up, moter ran, machine was dirty, needed some work, something I could attempt to fix.....decided to think about it.      DS (dear sister) was called/faebooked for consultation.... She was appauled that I even wanted to think about it !!!!   So wit

It's My Big Sister's Fault

Image
I used to be happy and content, sitting at night knitting, crochet, playing words with friends, reading, etc.  Then My Big Sister gets me hooked on quilting !!!!  I don't know how and when it happened.  It just did.  Now I've gotten hooked on paper piecing, have joined Facebook groups on quilting, and now getting ready to start on a project (or two) that may just do me in....   So here is the Next Project                        Here is the cast of characters.....I may add more I as progress.....                    I'm trying to use some reds this time around, it's not in my comfort zone,                                                       no pain, no gain...... I may need some more neutrals...we'll see I already invested $$$ to Hancock's of Paducah

My first house
