It's been awhile since I last "blogged" But I've been a busy Bee.......I ended up getting a new sewing machine.  test drove several and fell in love with the Janome.   I like that I'm in control of the tension instead of the computer...plus sewing "freehand" for quilting was the bomb.
       My next quest was finding a sewing table with spreading out room that didn't cost $1000.  I went though several tables, (Walmart was not happy with me, but I've gotten really good with returns).   Finding the right height was key.   I had googled search for sewing tables and had found a site where they converted a table to sewing table, where the machine would sit "flush"  .    I finally found a table at Office Max for $55.   the 5" bolts, nuts, washers a whooping $3.  a little bit of sawing (thanks Dad and Michael), drilling, and wha-la........A SEWING TABLE !!!!!!!




HAPPY  is an understatement !!!!

 
While I was waiting for the guys.....I started the Next sweater......  I decided that the green was a little obnoxious...  So I've since "ripped it out" and have started over.



So here it is with the new color scheme.......Very different,  but I like this one better, although, I think if I had reversed the green and the white,  it would have been OK......




I've also started on my scrappy whack a doodle quilt.   I need to add some length to it....and it's going wide at the bottom...  so I need to figure out what went wrong.

Kinda.......I've been on a halfway stalk on eBay for a featherweight machine.   I'd bid on a Regular basis knowing good and well that my chances of winning was slim.....It was fun, gave me something to do.....My oldest sister cheered me on,  said I needed one esp if I decided to start going to classes....  Then in a conspiracy against me, My Father swings by the thrift/junk store,  calls all excited because she has 2 new sewing machines,  if I wanted to go check them out.  As a dutiful daughter, I go to look....imagine my surprise when the first one she pulls out is a Featherwieght !!! The other machine was a black 1956-1959 singer,  case and box had seen better days,  didn't even look look at it, the featherweight was plugged up, moter ran, machine was dirty, needed some work, something I could attempt to fix.....decided to think about it.      DS (dear sister) was called/faebooked for consultation.... She was appauled that I eve...

Bonnie Hunter's MQ step 2

I'm All Done with step #2 !!!!!  Only had to take apart 6 .......Not too bad.   I used method 3.  It made more sense to me, esp with working night shift,  I didn't have to think too hard :)                            I got my fetherweight to working (Thanks to folks on Vintage Sewing Machines on Facebook )                    Steps 1 & 2 done AND ironed.. (the good fairies of ironing did not show up last night )                     see... still have the bonus one to iron.   Time to hit Netflix and race a movie
